Sherwin-Williams Distribution Center - Waco, Texas

For more than 70 years, Bob Moore Construction has built relationships of trust with every project we deliver.

One example of this is Sherwin-Williams, the nation’s largest specialty retailer of paint and painting supplies.

In 1990 Bob Moore Construction built a 346,000 SF regional distribution center for Sherwin Williams in Waco, Texas. The project was a great success and this building supported the company’s growth for the next quarter-century.

By 2016, the facility had reached its capacity for product storage. Based on the success of the first collaboration, Sherwin-Williams returned to Bob Moore Construction to create a larger and more modern facility.

In 2017 Sherwin-Williams moved to its new 608,000 SF distribution center.

Built with tilt-up construction, the distribution center provides space for the storage of as much as seven million gallons of paint.

The interior is separated into two large zones with a wall that serves as a containment barrier for fires. One zone includes separate rooms for storage of more flammable substances, drums, aerosol products and temperature controlled materials.

The second zone provides more racking along with a paint re-pour room, tint room, a 3,000 SF secured storage mezzanine, and forklift maintenance and recharging areas.

The majority of the distribution space is filled with extensive floor-to-ceiling racking and the latest designs in conveyor automation.

A portion of the floor includes a thickened slab with high specifications for flatness to support these automated systems.

To the rear of the space, a large air compressor system provides pneumatic power throughout the facility.

Sherwin-Williams is another example of what has become the hallmark of Bob Moore Construction’s success. The trust we earn with every project is why more than half of our business each year comes from returning customers. Companies who work with us once return again and again for the quality and value we provide.
