Tilt-Up Construction and Precast Concrete Construction Project Showcase
Tilt-up Construction (also called Tilt Wall Construction): An innovative, cost-effective way to create large concrete buildings more quickly than with concrete block construction. In a tilt-up construction project, the building’s walls are poured directly at the jobsite in large slabs of concrete called panels. The wall panels are then lifted, or tilted up, into position around the building’s slab. Tiltwall construction allows general contractors to build a wide range of commercial buildings more quickly and with better control of construction costs than what is typical for a traditional concrete building project.
Precast Concrete Building: A building constructed using precast concrete wall panels. Precast construction is similar to tilt-up construction, except that the concrete wall panels are formed at a manufacturing facility and transported to the job site rather than formed directly at the site.
Tilt-up construction has been a major component of Bob Moore Construction’s philosophy of delivering quality buildings, on time and in budget, since the 1970s. We have been a pioneer in tiltwall construction for over 30 years, accompanying our half-century of experience in traditional construction and steel buildings. Over the years, Bob Moore Construction has built several million square feet of quality buildings using tilt-up concrete technologies, with some structures approaching one million SF in size. We have used tiltwall construction for a wide range of applications, including office buildings, retail centers, warehouses, distribution centers, call centers, manufacturing facilities and other commercial / industrial structures. Because of the speed and value afforded by the tilt up system, this method of construction is now used in the large majority of our new commercial construction projects.

Bob Moore Construction is a sustaining member of the Tilt-up Concrete Association (TCA) and a member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI). A pioneer and leader in tilt-up construction in Texas, Bob Moore Construction was also the first general contractor in the United States to be named a TCA Certified Company by the TCA. The TCA Company Certification Program provides formal validation of a contractor’s experience, quality and performance. The evaluation process for this exclusive certifiction included a comprehensive review of our safety program and an on-site visit and evaluation of one of our jobsites. For specific projects, we have used precast concrete wall panels or even CMU concrete blocks rather than tilt-up wall panels. Our project management specialists are well versed in the various construction methodologies and can help select the concrete construction system that best meets our clients’ needs, schedules and budgets.
