From Pastures to Profits: Retail Construction

Date: July 10, 2019

It seems like there isn’t much that people agree on nowadays. We hear it on tv and read online about how people argue about something and everything all the time. Something most everyone can agree on is that, right now, Dallas-Fort Worth is the place to be. In March 2019, the Bureau of Labor Statistics report shows that the DFW Metroplex added 102,500 jobs in from February 2018 – February 2019, a 2.8 percent increase “compared to the national rate of 1.7 percent.”

In June, Bloomberg Business reported that 5% of all job growth in the United States in the last two years has been in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. As anyone in the construction industry will tell you, this job growth in DFW has been very beneficial for those of us in the industry.

The influx of new jobs has affected all sectors of our industry, including retail. As the metroplex expands, one-time pastures in formerly outlying areas are now prime real estate for new housing developments. As these emerge, retailer follow suit and flourish. A perfect example of this exact scenario is a Rooms-To-Go retail store, built by Bob Moore Construction, in North Fort Worth’s Alliance Town Center on i-35. This area of North Fort Worth was, until just a few years ago, a large cow pasture you drove by on the way to Alliance Airport or Texas Motor Speedway. Now, the area is just another part of Fort Worth flush with housing, retail space, office buildings, and warehouses.

Retail companies and developers like Rooms-To-Go, Northern Tool + Equipment, Harley Davidson, and Best Buy, to name a few, have consistently turned to Bob Moore Construction as their General Contractor.

Whether you need a general contractor or design-builder to expand an existing retail store, build a new store, or construct a large power-center, Bob Moore Construction has a team of professionals that can make it happen.
